Day 4 - Sun in the city, one from the girls...

After a large breakfast we decided to go for a walk and picnic in central park, we walked from the 23th to 60th Street, a 30 blocks trek, yes we know how to have a good time!!! When we finally arrived we surprisingly found more stores, Marie was able to exchange her pair of jeans that happened to be too small (size below 34 C was wishful thinking, darling) at Armani Exchange and Aurelie bought another T-shirt and a stole...

We then finally hit the park to enjoy another fine american dish, Hot Dogs accompanied by traditional industrial crisps... Temperature is particularly high today 30 degrees in the shade, so a quiet place under a tree to rest was in order. The park was packed mostly with lots of fine ladies in bikini for Nicolas and Alex viewing pleasure. We also wanted to rent a boat to cruise the lake, but unfortunately there was a 2 hours queue under the sun which we decided not to take advantage of... By mid afternoon we left Central Park via 5th avenue where we were (un)fortunate enough to witness a Greek parade...hum...

We think Marie must have a radar/beacon for shops, 'cause under her lead we magically arrived in Madison avenue and Flexington where we enjoyed yet again another shopping spree... but before resuming our retail therapy, we all needed ice cream in order to fight the intense heat. We ended up in a very chic French restaurant with every table covered in Silverware. Ice cream and sorbets were exquisite but it seems that we did not share the same definition of the word "cookie"... Instead of large, round biscuits covered with chocolate chips we were served with copies of mainstream biscuits
:-( still good but... where the cookies, b...h

On our way home we "accidently" stumbled upon Bloomingdale's (for the initiated this is where Rachel Green from Friends is working). Bloomingdale's is one of NY's legendary retail outlet an american equivalent of the Galerie Lafayette. Though today many articles were on sales with up to 70% discount, recession, recession...

After another busy day we then again praticed the arm lifting national sport to score a taxi, a very difficult exercise... Although you can find 1000's of taxis in New York they are not always inclined to take you on board... We finally found a charitable soul who kindly showed us how to street race in New York, even without seat belts we were not particularly reassured but still made it home safe.

Street racing is great in NYC, check.
Bring Silver Hornet or better next time, check :-)

Later than evening we again shifted our plan to go to the Empire State Building, due to unforeseen exhaustion. Though we still made it to a nice restaurant with fine waiters serving great italian food. I also managed to score a brand new white T-shirt 3 times.

Eating properly in front of pretty lady = Work in progress
