Day 11 - Back to B. City

Well I slept for about an hour, still in the plane it's 6am French time, it's going to be a long day... Marie seems to manage her sleep better than me, but even listening to Cradle of Filth doesn't seem to make a difference when it comes to me sleeping on a plane... tyeah heavy metal makes me sleep usually...

Oh well, at least it's fun to look at the people around in odd positions, mouth opened, drooling and even snoring... Not so funny???
Well I'm seating between two ladies, Marie on my left and another one on my right, we'll call her Mrs X. Mrs X seems to be nice, she was even pleased that I was seating at her seat instead of mine to be next to Marie and to get the aisle seat. I guess she wasn't pleased about our movements during the flight (quite a few of them) and the fact that I got a bit louder after a few drinks... apologies... The only problem with Mrs X is that she had a slight problem of hum... breathe...
You know you're in a plane with hundreds of people so there's bound to be little incidents, like dropping glasses full of wine on your laps (which happened to me quite a few times over my years of flying), people going in a coma due to their diabetes, old man hitting on your girlfriend, my dad even had an engine on fire once!!! But smell seems to be the most common occurence, (high altitude helping) on a plane and in my case I have got quite a sensitive sense of smell, so flying is always a treat for me :-(
To stay on topic, let's just say that there was a recurring smell coming my way and I thought, "damn the guy in front of me!!!" but I was mistaken after a while I turned my head to the right and found the problem... Mrs X, next time, please get a pack of Airways, you're a nice lady but I got a sensitive nose thanks... As you can imagine it is quite difficult/unPC to tell a stranger they have a breath problem while they're asleep so I spent most of my time, head turned to left. But hey I had a hot pretty blonde lady on that side, so I can't really complain ;-)
Anyway apart from that and a few turbulences, flight was smooth, breakfast horrid but we landed almost an hour before the ETA. Good news about landing in France is that I don't have to go to customs, how refreshing. Not so refreshing, I'm beat and I have to go back to London then B. City. We got our luggages no problem, a quick cigarettes later, we're on our way to the station to drop Marie. Marie's got a flexible ticket so she doesn't have to go to Gare du Nord and she got a train at 12 instead of 4pm initially. Bye Marie, see you soon!!!
As I have more than 4 hours to spare before taking the Eurostar, we're going back to the Verlyck palace, a very nice, brand new, decorated with taste and in a delightful neighbourhood flat in the suburb of Paris. Did I mention their flat is great?
After a few games of elevators and bags carrying/weight lifting exercises (my bag is about 25kg, Charlotte's about 20kg) we're in the cab, not the most luxurious one and eventhough we're all native French we have a hard time understanding the driver... But still we made fast home, got ripped off in the process, yeah now even the bags need to pay for the ride!!!
No problem to report at the Verlyck palace everything is still there, such a nice place to be ;-) Nicolas and I went onto our usual morning business, checking emails and important websites, I highly recommend http://www.viedemerde.fr/ for zee french speaking people, really funny.
A quick shower later and we went for lunch, although Nicolas couldn't find his car registration paper and insurance (stuff you have to carry with you at all time with you in France). Somebody who knows me really well would not think that we are best friends for nothing... I hate papers, especially when I forget where I hide them...
Quick stop at the Buffalo Grill, France's finest food paradise and back to Gare du Nord, thanks guys. Nothing to report here, I'm just on time, quick check'in and I'm in the train, watching a movie and falling asleep...
Back in London, Victoria Line is closed again, great... luggages are heavy and I just want to sleep... Quick ride to Waterloo... train is there as if it was waiting for me, nice :-)
I finally arrived home at 8pm!!! Next time it'd be nice to fly from Heathrow, which is only 25 minutes from home using zee Silver Hornet (aka Marilyn)!!!
Lots of mail, less books, a few calls and I finished the day with Gamin on PSN, videochat and Burnout Paradise, I'm back!!!
